I doubt I can, since

"x must be a tool, not a purpose in itself", is almost a cliche in Dutch :-)

Actually I once wrote a critical article about portability and code-reuse
for Stacks internal magazine once, and the above sentence could have been in
it.

Maybe I should rewrite/update it (and translate to English), and sent it to
Rosa, or put it on my private webpage.
