[lazarus] Lazarus doesn't link itself after package installation

Hi,
I have a silly little question.
How do I let Lazarus link itself, after installing packages?

All I get is:
"Compile IDE (without linking) completed"

And hence I have no Lazarus anymore after that, because I did a "clean build". 
I can do a make in the Lazarus directory, but that just gives back the plain 
vanilla IDE from CVS.

Compiling and linking a project works fine. Do I need a lazarus project file 
for lazarus?
