You must start the bundle (lazarus icon in finder), or the executable in
the bundle (/usr/.../lazarus.app/Contents/MacOS/lazarus), but
not the executable outside the bundle.

Yes, this could be problematic. Better delete the lazarus directory and
install 0.9.25 again.
