That's more or less true but working with different languages and different debuggers shows that quality of debbugers varies a lot and that you cannot trust them 100%. So you come up with ways of debugging your software that work reliable on all languages you use. Once you found these ways the quality of the debugger gets less important as the debugger sees less use.
