[Lazarus] Setting up debugger in Lazarus?????

I just tried to debug my first Lazarus project on my newly installed
development PC (Win XP Pro SP3). I have installed FPC2.4.2 and then
retrieved lazarus from SVN and built it.

But now when I try to set a breakpoint in my program code there is a
pop-up telling me to set up a debugger first....

This is completely new to me, I have tested lazarus previously on
another PC by using the official installer, but it installs an older
version so for this development PC I have used the SVN lazarus sources
and built from there.
Anyway, on the test PC this was never a problem, a breakpoint worked
as I am used to from 15 years of Delphi development.

But now I am stumped! Do I need to install yet another program or
similar on my development PC? If so what is this????
And how do I do it?
