See above: Documentation doesn't contain accelerators. String resources 
must be translated properly, of course, but this is not required very 
often, so that it can be done manually.

German has the same problems. From the preceding sample words I cannot 
determine whether PT/BR pairs exist with different gender.

When the words-to-translate are marked in an appropriate way, global 
find-and-replace can do the rest. The "pt/br" style is only nice for 
human readers, for automated text substition something like "%english 
term%" might be more appropriate. If ever required, the preprocessed 
text then can be checked with any common spell checker (OpenOffice...), 
which may reveal more errors in the original texts.
