Your solution is not really simple to implement, because:
1> What about accelerators?
2> Portuguese has gender, and changing a word can change elements
connected to it. Portuguese has articles, and uses them very often, so
a noun gender change will very often change at least the associated
article.
Plus, there seams to be no-one which volunteered to write such a tool.
