I grew up fully bilingual. Mother was English, Father was Afrikaans. I
went to a Afrikaans school (thou had extra subjects in English), my
after school studies were in English. Eng & Afr friends are about
50/50.  I think English is so damn hard and confusing because it has
been spoken for so long and has changed from century to century.
Shakespeare (which lived not that long ago) also spoke English, but
how many can read and understand that?! :)
