Maybe it has to do with compositing. I have the same bug.
Lazarus and FPC from svn about a week old.
Ubuntu Oneiric 64-bit.
Gnome3 with hw accelerated compositing (not sure if they still use compiz or only for their fallback mode)
gtk2: 2.24.8-2
