So why did you not specify that in your message?  Or why didn't you
reply to the message that offended you?

In none of the messages in your screenshot you would need to scroll.  In
only one of Mark's emails in this thread I had to scroll to start
reading his reply, and that's probably because I only use half a screen
to view messages.  He could have trimmed more, but probably felt that he
needed to provide context for his reply.
