OGV, MP4, WEBM, and I believe the first and last ones are supported out
of the box on web browsers like Firefox and Chrome (on multiple
platforms - even FreeBSD ;-)) without the need of any plugins.

But then again, everybody should have a copy of VLC installed - which
means ANY video and audio format is supported. ;-)
